Especially at the dark time of the year, with frost and snow, all car owners value having a garage: no more need to scrape windows, sensitive technology is protected from the cold and theft is prevented, as is damage by martens to cables and rubber parts. However, appearance is as important as functionality and security, as the garage door is more than just a shutter: it must suit the architecture of the house. The ravages of time have often eaten away at old doors: the colours are matt and faded or peeling, rust patches can be seen, the design is anything but fashionable by today's standards, and the opening & closing process is loud and rickety. Safety is also no longer guaranteed in many cases – worn springs or rusty components can cause damage or even injure persons. Equipment that is commonplace nowadays, such as finger trap protection or electric drives, is not present.
Rapid exchange thanks to cover plates
The manufacturer Teckentrup offers special renovation solutions to people that want to replace their aged door, so the new door can be installed without problem even in the event of unfavourable space conditions. Using the new 85 millimetre wide cover plate, the CarTeck door fits into almost any opening, even without a bottom buffer: The cover plates span gaps of up to 30 millimetres in width. This often allows the use of cost-efficient standard-sized doors. And to ensure an adequate level of comfort, an automatic drive with handy remote control is usually included in the garage door package.
Especially thick double-walled doors allow less cold in and less warmth out. They improve thermal insulation – an aspect that is particularly valuable in the case of garages that are directly connected to the house.
