How did we come up with the numbers?

The calculations for heat loss have been mathematically modelled with a tool used by heating engineers to calculate the output requirement for a heating system in a defined space. Our model has fixed conditions, e.g., window size, roof construction, floor construction, wall construction, garage door size, etc., with the only changebeing the ‘U’ value of each garage door type. This allows for a like-for-like comparison.
