With traditional block frames, 150mm is the typical amount lost from the clear opening width of an aperture. Often fitted centrally within the aperture reveal, block frames also prevent the door from opening fully, just beyond 90º is the norm...
Their first advantage is improved clear opening width – Teckentrup’s Corner, Counter and Wraparound frames are much narrower in profile. A 47mm profile means an extra 56mm clear opening width compared to a block frame. More door and less frame makes achieving minimum clear opening dimensions easier for any given opening size.
Practicality is increased - Teckentrup’s Corner, Counter and Wraparound frames fit at the edge of the reveal allowing the door to open past 90º and on to 180º, limited only by any protruding hardware.
Aesthetics are much improved – the frames integrate with the opening, tidying and protecting the aperture edge and allowing architectural finishes to flow up to the frame creating a very neat “picture frame” effect that is flush with the door leaf.
Teckentrup’s Counter and Wraparound frames take integration a step further by facing inside the reveal or providing a full wraparound for the reveal, integrating the frame with both faces of the aperture. The Counter and Wraparound frames can be used on openings up to 450mm deep and are particularity effective at protecting the opening in high traffic applications.

Seamless aesthetics, wider clear openings and practical in use, Teckentrup has the ideal frame solution for your next project.
