The Teckentrup Fire and Security event culminated in the Teckentrup team receiving 9 certificates for its new security door range. The range is tested to the new LPS 1175 Issue 8 Security Standard and includes doors from A1 (SR1) to D10 (SR4). Teckentrup is currently the only UK company to have a door range tested to this new issue.
Richard Flint from BRE presented an overview of the new issue (issue 8) of the standard. Mark shared his expertise on the attack test duration times and the attack tool "kits" for each security level rating and the various threats and risks in today's world.
Ian Broadley, Teckentrup's National Sales & Technical Manager, took everyone through the new security door range in our new, purpose built showroom. If you'd like to see the new showroom just contact Ian and he'll roll out the welcome mat! We'll also be posting video of the doors as an online showroom - the first is here. If you missed this event, more are planned, just register your interest, again, with Ian.
Jim Rodger, Teckentrup Uk's Managing Director gave an insightful presentation on the issues around fire doors and standards, CE marking, Building Regulations and assessments. Jim concluded his presentation with a compelling argument for the UK to move from integrity-only fire doors to insulation and and integrity fire doors. Read more here.
The event finished on a smashing note with Paul Dillon from BRE and the BRE's attack demonstrator putting some Teckentrup doors (and a door not made by Teckentrup claiming to be a security door) through their paces. The simulated attack test would normally form part of an assessment of a door for security certification. We filmed the whole demo and it's quite something to see - scroll down to view the movie. We've had to censor some sections a they risk educating the criminal fraternity in ways to improve their skills! If you'd like to see the uncut videos just get in touch!
