New Victoria Residential Development, Manchester

Consisting of 520 homes across two multi-storey buildings, a new residential development project in the heart of Manchester, required a large quaintly of doors spread across the entire site – one 60-minute steel fire door to the fire escape stairs on each floor, 47 doors in total!

Teckentrup, in partnership with its sister company, ABC Doors, worked on the project for leading construction company Vinci and Muse Developments. The project was ideal for the Teckentrup/ABC offering, demonstrating the combined expertise of both companies - compliant and certified Teckentrup product, perfectly married with ABC’s compliant and certified installation capabilities.

Teckentrup modular steel door sets are a versatile solution designed to suit most door requirements – many performance characteristics in one door, such as fire, smoke, security, etc… fully certified, compliant with C5 durability. Teckentrup’s approach is exemplified by its insulated fire doors and the opportunity they provide for architects to specify a commercially competitive, integrity and insulation fire performance.

Supplied in grey to compliment the buildings interiors, each door was fitted with a vision panel, certified to EN1634-1 and achieving 60-minute integrity and insulation fire protection.

Distribution to each floor during construction, prior to lifts being commissioned, made sure the ABC installation teams’ step count for the day was achieved! Working in a completed environment (carpeted and painted), ABC’s FIRAS trained engineers were required to grout each door frame on site. Carefully managing this messy process, the engineers ensured the surrounding environment remained clean.
